About LetShield
The Renters' Rights Act 2025 is the biggest change to private renting in England since the Housing Act 1988. Section 21 is gone. Fines have increased. A mandatory landlord database is launching. And most landlords we've spoken to have no idea what they need to do about it.
We built LetShield because we were in the same position. Managing a couple of rental properties, reading contradictory advice on forums, and worrying about fines we didn't know existed. The existing tools were all accounting software with compliance bolted on as an afterthought — a date field here, a reminder there. None of them told us which laws actually applied to our specific properties, and none of them helped us prove we'd done the right thing.
LetShield does three things that nobody else does properly:
- Personalised compliance mapping. We ask about your property and tell you exactly which laws apply and why — not a generic checklist.
- Proof-of-service audit trails. When you serve a document to a tenant, we create a timestamped, tamper-evident record designed to support your evidence of service. Because "I definitely sent it" isn't good enough if a council asks.
- PRS Database readiness. When the mandatory landlord database opens for registration, you'll be ready to submit in minutes.
We're a small company registered in England. We don't sell your data. We don't provide legal advice — we provide tools that help you track and prove your compliance. For anything complex, we'll always recommend talking to a solicitor.
