1. What LetShield is
LetShield is a compliance tracking tool for UK landlords. It helps you understand and track your legal obligations, manage certificate expiry dates, and generate records of document service.
2. What LetShield is not
LetShield does not provide legal advice. While we work to keep our compliance information accurate and up to date, regulations change and individual circumstances vary. You should always consult a qualified solicitor or legal professional for advice specific to your situation.
We are not responsible for any fines, penalties, or losses that arise from relying solely on information provided through our service.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person — do not share your account with others.
4. Free and paid plans
The free plan includes 1 property with basic compliance tracking. The Shield plan includes up to 25 properties and all features. Pricing is as displayed on our pricing page at the time of purchase.
5. Payments and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel at any time — access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial periods, except within the first 14 days (see section 6).
6. 14-day refund policy
If you upgrade to a paid plan and are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of payment for a full refund. No questions asked.
7. Your data
You own your data. We process it only to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You can export or delete your data at any time from your Settings page.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use LetShield to:
- Store or transmit illegal content
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Use automated systems to scrape or overload the service
- Resell access to the service without our written permission
9. Availability
We aim to keep LetShield available at all times, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We will not be liable for any losses caused by temporary unavailability.
10. Limitation of liability
LetShield is a compliance tracking tool, not a substitute for professional legal advice. We are not liable for fines, penalties, or losses resulting from reliance on information provided by the service. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LetShield Ltd's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify registered users by email of any significant changes. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
